The six sections are: Beginning Color Studies, Color Interaction, Applying Color Principles, Color Harmony, Color Research, and Color Experience and Interpretation. A seventh section, Color Studies on the Computer, offers guidelines for doing most of the assignments in Adobe Illustrator. The lessons presented in this workshop can be easily accomplished in around 15 weeks if you spend approximately six to eight hours a week working on the assignments. Ideally, you will be able to follow the sequence and complete them all.

PA RT TWO: FIRST P RIN CIP LES 29 The Hue/Saturation Color Wheel The color wheel we use (fig. 17), shows divisions of both hue and saturation. Primary, secondary, and tertiary hues are arranged around the circle in even, pie-slice increments. The primary colors are subdivided into narrower co-primary slices. In addition, variations of each hue representing the four levels of saturation are arranged in concentric circles. The outside ring shows the hues as prismatic colors. Directly inside that is a circle of muted colors.
